The 2020 Sandler Russian River Valley Pinot Noir comes entirely from the Graham Family Vineyard. August West partner, Howard Graham, owns this 8 acre parcel which is close to the Sonoma town of Forestville. Graham has been a staple in the August West lineup since 2004, and has been an integral part of many well-known Pinots: Loring, Testarossa, Kosta Browne, Chenoweth, Cirq, Jigar, Camlow, Domaine Della and others.
Sandler calls this Cuvée Marcy because Marcy Keefer allowed Charlie Chenoweth to take clone 23 cuttings from Keefer Ranch and plant them at Graham. This wine is made entirely from Pinot Noir clone 23, also known as Mariafeld.
This is one of the larger-framed Sandler Pinots ever produced. It should drink well from 2022 through 2032.
