The smallest-yielding vineyard for Sandler in 2015 was the Boer Vineyard. This came in at exactly 1 ton per acre which translated into only 71 cases produced. As with all Boer Pinots Sandler has made, this was done with 100% whole clusters. The harvest date of August 20 was the earliest ever for Sandler, and the third earliest ever for Ed Kurtzman. The two vintages that came in even sooner for Ed were 1996 and 1997 at Chalone.
The 2015 Boer should be the most age-worthy Pinot of the four Sandler vineyard designates. Although it's already showing promise, it should evolve slowly through most of the 2020s.
