The 2017 Boer Vineyard Grenache was harvested exactly one month after the Boer Pinot Noir.  In a typical vintage, it's closer to a two or three week separation, but 2017 was for the most part, a very cool growing season.  There were two heat waves at the end of August and beginning of September, though Grenache is a fairly late-ripening grape, so the mostly cool year let us get some nice hang time from the Grenache.

After a one year experiment of destemming the Boer Grenache in 2016, we went back to 100% whole cluster in 2017.  We feel it makes a more complex and interesting wine.  There's a good amount of tannin on the palate if you try the wine soon, but give it until 2020 or 2021 to let it soften a bit.  It should age well past 2030 after that.
