This is Sandler's second Santa Lucia Highlands Chardonnay, the first was the 2011. The 2016 comes entirely from the Tondre Grapefield, which sits along River Road, in the Salinas Valley. Known for producing rich, tropical fruit scented Chardonnays, the Santa Lucia Highlands has the perfect, cool climate for maintaining high acidity while ripening the fruit slowly. This should be at its best between late 2018 through 2023.
